Daron Malakian

Daron Malakian, second voice / guitarist of System of a Down and lead vocals on Scars on Broadway was born on July 18, 1975, Los Angeles, his father (Armenian-Iraqi) is Vartan Malakian and his mother (Armenian-Iranian) Zepur Malakian
. His cousin was one of the biggest factors to approach the metal genre, as he played a recording of the popular band "KISS" is interested in making a little to the genre. His favorite bands started with AC / DC, Kiss, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Black Sabbath, Helloween among some, when most teen was changed to Slayer, Megadeth, Metallica, Exodus, Anthrax, Pantera, Overkill, Kreator, Cannibal Corpse; heavier than many previous bands. Now at 17 years old he had a slight influence on The Beatles and Peter, Paul and Mary that helped him become a better songwriter.


Some of the curiosities about Daron Malakian are:

- When boy wanted to play drums, but thanks to his father that did not happen, instead gave him a guitar and no drums because he said "do not go out."

- The name "System of a Down" originated a poem written by Daron "Victims of a Down" in memory of the Armenian deaths genocide
